WSIB Services for Psychological Injuries

Please note - Our roster for WSIB therapy clients is full and we are not able to accept any additional clients for treatment services funded by WSIB.

We are able to see new WSIB clients for Initial Psychological Assessments, only, through the Community Mental Health Program. We are able to expedite these assessments to help you get them completed as soon as possible, but, we are not able to offer follow-up treatment services at our clinic as our treatment roster is full.

You’ve been through a lot at work, and you’re just not feeling better on your own.

Perhaps you’ve been told by WSIB (Workplace Safety & Insurance Board), to find a psychologist for an assessment, or psychotherapy care has been recommended. If you’re ready to put the work needed into your workplace injury recovery, and you have a psychological injury that is not a physical injury, we can help.

Limestone Clinic helps injured workers recover, reconnect with their lives, and when appropriate, return to work. Our services are offered through WSIB's Community Mental Health Program (CMHP) and our therapists are experienced in working with WSIB to provide mental health assessments and treatment for injured workers.

We’re the right fit for you if:

  • You have a registered WSIB claim (you have been assigned a claim number) and you have experienced a significant psychological reaction after a workplace incident or cumulative incidents, such as traumatic mental stress, chronic mental stress, or first-responder post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • You have been asked to get an Initial Psychological Assessment by a psychologist.

  • You understand that our roster for psychological treatment is full, and you will be attending to receive your initial psychological assessment, with treatment services occurring with a different provider.

Limestone Clinic & WSIB

The first step to using our WSIB services is to read the Worker’s Guide to Registering a Mental Health Claim from the Community Mental Health Program (CMHP).

Next, contact WSIB and register your claim if you haven't already done so. Once you have received your claim number, give us a call to let us know you are interested in working with us. Please be prepared to give us your contact information, date of birth, and claim number.

THE PROCESS

1. First, Limestone Clinic will contact WSIB to request authorization to see you as a client. If WSIB has not yet adjudicated your claim, or if they are waiting for medical documentation or paperwork from your workplace, there may be a waiting period.

2. Once authorization is received, we will complete the first part of CMHP—arranging your assessment. During this step, you will receive questionnaires to complete online before your appointment.

3. Once your online questionnaires have been completed, your assessment appointment will be scheduled and conducted. You may need to meet with the psychologist for more than one appointment, depending on your circumstances. Once the assessment is completed, you will receive a copy of the assessment and a copy will be sent to WSIB.

4. If therapy has been recommended in your assessment, we will provide you with recommended providers outside of Limestone Clinic with whom you can arrange treatment services. We are unable to take on any additional treatment services clients with WSIB.

PAYMENT

We do not charge injured workers for therapy services provided through the CMHP program. Missed appointments, however, are subject to a missed fee payable by the worker.

Reconnect, recover, and start feeling like "you" again.
